Demutualisation of Westfund. One of the things that makes Westfund unique is it’s policy of returning profits to improve services. It’s history and underlying philosophy were the reasons my husband and I chose Westfund over the other Health Funds. We strongly feel that demutualisation would increase shareholder and legislative pressures towards profits for shareholders, as against returning the profits to improved services for all. Please stand strong and resist pressures to demutualise a unique health fund!

We have just read in ‘Health’ of your decision to continue the mutual structure of Westfund. Congratulations and thank you for taking this decision. Belonging to a ‘Not for Profit’ fund is as important to us as the good service that Westfund provides. It is comforting to know that you continue to put the interest of members ahead of profiteering by outsiders. Keep up the good work!
