We are pleased to donate $10,000 to the Queensland State Emergency Service (SES) – Mackay Unit.
SES volunteers have provided endless support to the members of the Mackay community adversely affected by Cyclone Debbie and the subsequent flooding, and this is Westfund’s way of saying ‘thank you’.
“The recovery from the devastation caused by Cyclone Debbie is a huge task.
“The efforts of the SES did not stop after the disaster – they continued as the sheer magnitude of the cleanup became apparent, not to mention the work done to prepare as best as possible for the cyclone,” said Westfund Regional Manager Elsie Van Staden.
With multiple Care Centre locations affected by Cyclone Debbie, Westfund have also made donations to SES Units in Moranbah and Rockhampton.
This is our way of thanking the selfless SES volunteers who have worked, and continue to work, towards helping our community recover from this disaster.
I’m thrilled to welcome Local Controller Selina Neill to our Mackay Care Centre to receive this donation on behalf of the Mackay SES
