New dental centre to put smiles on Lithgow community

Lithgow, NSW: A leading regional health fund is expanding investment in the regions with a state-of-the-art, family-focused dental centre set to open in Main Street, Lithgow, from 28 August.

Developed and operated by Westfund Health Insurance, the Westfund Dental Care Centre will feature cutting-edge dental technology, a wheel-chair friendly treatment room and affordable dental care. Westfund remains committed to reducing the gap in dental services for patients.

Westfund’s Chief Health Care Services Officer, Liz Casmiri said the opening of the centre would help deliver advanced emergency and preventative dental care to the Central West.

“Lithgow is the birthplace of Westfund Health Insurance. We helped shape the private health sector in Australia with our origins dating back over 140 years to 1881,” Ms Casmiri said.

“Our investment in this new facility reflects our commitment to offering the highest level of care to our members and the broader community. As an organisation, we are always looking for ways to enhance services available to our members and this new dental centre is another example of this.

“We have integrated the latest dental technology available including 3D imaging machines, intra-oral cameras and diagnostic equipment.

“Our broader program aims to invest in services that encourage people to seek out preventative healthcare services across all aspects of their wellbeing journey, including dental care.

“Our research shows that preventative treatment reduces the need for more costly and invasive care later on, so providing a place that people seek out and feel comfortable was top-of-mind when designing the new centre,” explained Ms Casmiri.

The Westfund Dental Care Centre is a Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) accredited facility owned and operated by Westfund providing a range of dental services with low or no gap payments.

Westfund’s CEO, Mark Genovese said it was a strategic decision for Westfund to invest in the new dental centre to further support the needs of the community.

“Westfund Health Insurance is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making communities healthier by expanding access to affordable healthcare,” Mr Genovese said.

“The new Westfund Dental Care Centre is an example of how we are supporting our members and the general community by creating state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and services that focus on providing affordable, value for money services.

“The facility is staffed by highly qualified and experienced clinicians, dental assistants and support staff and is available to everyone,” he said.

The Westfund Dental Care Centre in Lithgow is moving from 120 Main Street to 140 Main Street to a larger space to better support the needs of its growing member base.

Westfund Health Insurance is a not-for-profit private health fund providing healthcare cover for over 135,000 members with origins dating back to 1881.
