Westfund extends Doctors on Demand partnership

Lithgow, NSW: Westfund is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Doctors on Demand. As part of the ‘Giveback for Good Health’ initiative launching on 1 January 2026, this partnership will provide eligible members with fully covered virtual GP consultations for six months, offering practical support and easing the burden of healthcare costs for Westfund members across Australia.

Eligible Westfund members with extras cover will receive at least one free telehealth GP consult per policy (valued at up to $90). Couples will receive two, and families will receive four. This initiative reflects Westfund’s commitment to tackling healthcare affordability and accessibility challenges faced by Australians, particularly those residing in regional areas.

Westfund's Chief Customer Officer, Anna Maltabarow, highlighted the importance of this support for members, particularly those in regional communities. "We are delighted to extend our partnership with Doctors on Demand. We know that for many of our members, particularly those in regional areas, rising living costs and limited access to GPs can make it harder to access healthcare," said Maltabarow.

"By providing fully covered virtual consultations, we hope to remove some of the barriers our members face and ensure they can get the medical advice they need, when they need it."

The partnership with Doctors on Demand, a trusted Australian telehealth platform, ensures members can connect with registered doctors via video 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including public holidays. Whether members require a prescription, medical advice for a sick child, or a routine check-up, the service provides access to Australian-registered doctors from the comfort of home.

Accessing the service has been streamlined for ease of use. Members can book their consultations directly through the Westfund+ app via ‘book’ to find the Doctors on Demand tile and make an appointment. Outside of the fully covered consultations, all Westfund members can access $5 off every standard consult, ensuring ongoing affordability throughout the year.
