What is the Westfund Community Grants Program?

The Westfund Community Grants Programs is an initiative by Westfund designed to give back to the communities we serve. Each year, the program provides over $200,000 in grants and defibrillators to support community groups and organisations in New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.

The program is built upon a foundation of three pillars: family and community, health and wellbeing and fit for life. By supporting grassroots initiatives, we aim to foster thriving communities and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families.

How can I apply for a Westfund Community Grant?

Applying is simple:

  1. Read: Start by reviewing the eligibility criteria to make sure your organisation or project qualifies. Decide whether you're applying for a grant or a defibrillator.

  2. Gather: Collect all the necessary information and documents to support your application. This might include project plans, budgets, and any additional materials that strengthen your case.

  3. Complete: Fill out the online application form, providing as much detail as possible. Don't forget to submit before the closing date!

If you have any questions or need help, we're here for you!

Can my organisation apply for more than one grant?

No - to ensure fairness, we will only accept one application per applicant per round.

Can I apply again if I've previously received a Westfund Community Grant?

Yes, however organisations are only able to receive one grant per calendar year. So, if you received a grant through the first round of the program, you're unable to receive a second grant in the same year. You're welcome to apply in future years on behalf of your organisation. Applications are subject to the same Terms and Conditions and selection criteria.

What should I do if I'm having trouble with my application?

We've created the Community Grants Application form to ensure that all organisations have the opportunity to give us as much information as our Grants Community may need to help guide their decisions. This means that for some questions, we're looking for at least a minimum number of characters in your answer. Please check if you have provided enough information in your answer - if there's not enough information, you won't be able to proceed to the next page. There are also some mandatory fields in the form - if you're having trouble, just check that you've filled out these fields.

What are the eligibility and selection criteria for the Westfund Community Grants Program?

To be eligible, your organisation needs to be a registered charity or not-for-profit based in NSW, QLD, or the ACT. Your project should align with one of our pillars: health and wellbeing, family and community or fit for life, and address a real community need with clear goals and measurable outcomes.

Some applications, like those for staff wages, private ventures, or projects without demonstrated community benefit, aren't eligible. For more details, check out this here.

Nonetheless, this is merely a guide and doesn't cover every possible scenario - if have questions about your application, our team is here to help. Just reach out via community@westfund.com.au and we'll be happy to help.

Where can I find the terms and conditions of the program?

You can find the full terms and conditions here. We recommend reviewing them carefully before submitting your application to make sure you understand all the requirements.
