Westfund Health Insurance has contributed to the spirit of Charity Shield preparations this week by donating a number of match passes to Barnardos Mudgee.
Barnardos provides community support and child advocacy programs focussed on providing educational, health and social and emotional wellbeing for children and younger people.
Barnardos representatives were on hand today to accept the donation and were able to meet Dragons stars Paul Vaughan and Cameron McInnes at the Westfund Care Centre.
Westfund has partnered with Charity Shield organisers this year to bring the highly-anticipated match to Mudgee as an extension of their ongoing partnership with St George Illawarra Dragons.
Westfund Regional Manager Sarah Willoughby said involvement in regional communities and fostering support programs such as those offered by Barnardos is fundamental to Westfund’s commitment to the community of Mudgee.
We’re always thrilled to be able to support worthwhile community organisations such as Barnardos and it seems appropriate that we are able to pass on this gesture of goodwill in the lead up to this weekend’s Charity Shield.
Sarah Willoughby, Regional Manager
We respect and admire the contribution Barnardos bring to the Mudgee community and we support them in bringing an opportunity for those who may not have been otherwise able to enjoy the Westfund Charity Shield.
The presentation was the prelude to an hour of meet and greet with the two Dragons’ stars meeting Westfund and Mudgee community members.
